Traditional Chinese AC and DC dual-use electronic rodent killer: Circuit Design, Parts List & Workshop Prototype Guide
In short: Traditional Chinese AC and DC dual-use electronic rodent killer: Circuit Design, Parts List & Workshop Prototype Guide. This entry documents a circuit & prototype taken from Chinese practical-technology literature, written for small-scale makers and home producers. The text below is the full English translation of the original Chinese workshop notes, covering materials and quantities, the step-by-step sequence, and the practical cautions recorded in the source. Roughly 5913 words of English technical text, translated and preserved without editing. It is intended for experimental and reference use, not for regulated or commercial certification.
AC and DC dual-use electronic rodent killerElectronic rodent zappers are an effective way to eliminate mice. They use various foods that mice like as bait to lure mice to high-voltage lines, causing them to be electrocuted and faint. This electronic mouse killer can be powered by dry batteries or accumulators, as well as AC power.1. Circuit working principleThe circuit of the AC and DC electronic mouse killer is shown in Figure 30-1. It is composed of a voltage stabilizing circuit, a high-voltage generating circuit and an alarm circuit.Figure 30-1The power supply step-down transformer B, transistor BG1, voltage stabilizing tube DW, etc. form a step-down voltage stabilizing circuit to output a stable 12V DC power. The time base integrated circuit IC, resistors R1, R2 and capacitors C1 and C2 form an astable circuit. When the power is turned on, high-frequency oscillation can be generated. The IC directly drives the power amplifier tube BG1 to work, so that the amplified oscillation current is boosted by the transformer B, generating an alternating pulse high voltage of about 3000V on the secondary winding. This high voltage is added to the power grid. When the rats are attracted by the bait on the high-voltage power grid or touch the power grid due to their activities, they will be knocked unconscious by the high voltage. In order to know in time that the rat is electrocuted and faint and to clean up the scene, transistors Bg3, BB4, capacitor C10 and speaker Y form a delayed alarm circuit. When the rodent is hit by the high-voltage power grid, resistor R6 generates a voltage drop due to the flow of current. This voltage drop charges capacitor C10 through resistor R7. When the charging voltage reaches a certain value, the complementary audio oscillator composed of BG3 and BG4 tubes works, and the speaker emits an alarm sound. When used in areas without AC power supply, the regulated power supply part can be omitted and the 12V DC power supply can be used directly.2. Component selection and productionBG1 and BG2 are NPN type high-power transistors, requiring β>30, BVCEO≥120V, PCM≥20W, and 3DD15B or 3DD7 can be selected.BG3 is a PNP transistor, choose 3AX31 or 9015.BG4 is an NPN transistor, choose 3DG6 or 9013.The step-up transformer B2 …
